Stories of Endurance

The Warmth of Other Suns: the Epic Story of America's Great Migration by Isabel Wilkerson, is a work that chronicles the departure of millions of blacks from the indignities and injustices of the "Jim Crow" laws of the southern states to the west and north during 1915 to 1970. In particular, it tells the story of three families and their endurance to overcome prejudice in both the south and the large cities where they settled in the north and west. I find their perseverance in the face of inconceivable humiliation and oppression inspiring. (Amie, you would like this).
